The provincial government of Santiago del Estero has implemented several initiatives focused on education and regional development in its interior areas. Initially, the “Conociendo mi provincia” (Knowing my province) program hosted high school seniors from Loreto and Fernández at the Government House. This educational initiative aims to help students revalue the historical and cultural heritage of the province through tours of the capital and other regions. Following this, Governor Elías Suárez inaugurated multiple new educational facilities and social housing projects. These infrastructure developments include the opening of Kindergarten No. 145 ‘Nuestra Señora de Loreto’, the new building for School No. 258 ‘Pedro José Frías’ in Loreto, and additional schools in the Atamisqui department. Local officials stated these works are part of a broader plan to strengthen infrastructure and provide equal opportunities to interior communities. Expanding the “Conociendo mi provincia” program, approximately 250 high school students from locations including Vinará, La Cañada, and Fernández recently visited the Casa de Gobierno. During the visit, students toured the Salón de Acuerdos and were received by Chief of Cabinet of Ministers Víctor Araujo. Araujo noted that Governor Elías Suárez decided to maintain the program despite the “current difficult economic context,” emphasizing the importance of providing experiences that complement classroom learning and strengthen connections to local history and culture.
