In July 2026, Santiago was named the top South American city at the World Travel Awards, highlighting revitalised historic districts like the Yungay neighbourhood and cultural venues such as the Museum Taller and Peluquería Francesa. Building on this momentum, the city will host several major viticulture events in late 2026. On September 4, 2026, Chile will celebrate National Wine Day, a date officially established in 2015 via presidential decree to honor the country’s wine ~~history and~~ history, cultural ~~identity.~~ identity, and importance to gastronomy and tourism. In Santiago, the Barrio La Bolsa will host events featuring more than 20 wineries, while Enoturismo Chile, supported by Corfo, has curated over 50 experiences ranging from free activities to premium gastronomic offerings. Nationwide celebrations include vineyard and cellar tours in the Choapa Valley, nocturnal wine events in the Aconcagua Valley, and festivals featuring live music and grape stomping in the Casablanca Valley. Following these celebrations, the Feria Bocas Moradas will mark its 10th anniversary at Polo Apoquindo on September 5 and 6, featuring 50 independent wineries. Concurrently, the 2026 Wine Day celebration, organized by Vinos de Chile, will take place at Mercado Urbano Tobalaba (MUT). This event, marking the first time MUT will host the celebrations, will showcase over 40 wineries through a geographical tour of the country’s wine valleys. The program includes themed private tastings focused on Northern, Central, and Southern wines, as well as VIGNO and foreign selections, alongside a ‘Sommelier Selection Bar’ and various gastronomic pairings. In November 2026, Santiago will host the first Chilean edition of ‘The World’s 50 Best Vineyards’ during the week of November 16. Organized in partnership with the Government of Santiago and Grupo Liderazgo, the event will bring over 700 wine and travel professionals to more than 40 vineyards, including those in the Maipo Valley.
