Singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles has announced the release of released her new seventh studio album, ‘Good Grief’, scheduled for August 28, 2026. via Epic Records. This marks her first album in seven years. Leading up to full-length project since 2019’s ‘Amidst the release, Chaos’. The 14-track collection explores themes of loss and emotional equilibrium, which Bareilles released the single ‘Still Crying’, described as a means to provide “comfort or catharsis” for listeners. The album features several collaborations, including a duet with Brandi Carlile on ‘Salt Then Sour Then Sweet’ and a track co-written with Ingrid Michaelson titled ‘Nervous Breakdown’. Other contributors include Aaron Dessner. The accompanying music video features her ‘Girls5eva’ castmates and her husband, Dessner, Joe Tippett. Tippett, and Megan Falley. In addition to the 14-track album, which includes a collaboration conjunction with Brandi Carlile, Bareilles will release a the music, the companion feature-length documentary titled ‘Good Grief’. Directed Grief’, directed by Josh Alexander, the film documents the recording process at Dreamland Recording Studios in Woodstock, New York, and explores themes of personal loss and healing. Following its premiere at the Tribeca Festival, the documentary is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on September 2, opening in approximately 40 cities. 2 following its premiere at the Tribeca Festival. Bareilles has described Wambach, documents the project as an ‘intimate observation’ recording process at Dreamland Recording Studios and a ‘sister piece to the album’ that explores the healing power of music, specifically touching on her music through Bareilles’ experiences with fertility and the loss of close friends. Tickets for the film are set to go on sale August 20.
