The Sardinian regional government has implemented several financial measures targeting different aspects of regional management. One initiative involves the allocation of 56 million euros toward residency incentives, offering up to 30,000 euros to individuals relocating to the island. This program has faced criticism from Aldo Salaris, regional coordinator of the Riformatori, who argues that the funds should instead be used for structural investments in healthcare, agriculture, and essential services to address the root causes of depopulation. Salaris specifically noted that Agenas data shows only 64.3% of specialist visits in Sardinia are provided within required timeframes, a decline from the previous year, and advocated for prioritizing investments in agriculture, livestock, and environmental heritage through Forestas. In separate measures, the regional government approved funding to support municipal operations. This includes 6 million euros distributed between 2026 and 2028 to strengthen local police forces and urban security across 14 municipalities, such as Cagliari and Sassari. Furthermore, over 5.5 million euros has been allocated to assist municipalities in updating urban planning tools and managing territorial transformations in alignment with the Regional Landscape Plan. Additionally, following a proposal by President Alessandra Todde, the region approved 14.38 million euros to support third sector associations for the 2026–2028 period. This funding includes 6.28 million euros for renewing transport vehicles for vulnerable individuals, alongside support for general association activities and social or socio-sanitary projects. President Todde stated Most recently, the initiative aims Sardinia Regional Council approved a plan to reduce territorial inequalities progressively align the salaries of local government employees with those of regional personnel. A total of 50 million euros will be allocated to cover this gap, including 30 million euros already earmarked and ensure assistance in remote areas where public services are limited. an additional 20 million euros expected through a budget amendment on November 10.
