SASE SpA labor agreement at Umbria International Airport and management changes

SASE SpA, the management company for Umbria International Airport, reached a labor agreement with regional trade unions, including FILT CGIL, FIT CISL, UILT UIL, and UGL Trasporto Aereo. The agreement establishes several employee benefits, such as a 1 euro increase in meal vouchers beginning in September 2026 and a monthly 10 euro bonus for laundering work clothing. The company also agreed to extend the ‘Premio di Risultato’ (performance bonus) for one additional year under existing conditions. Furthermore, SASE expressed a willingness to negotiate solutions regarding compensation for past periods and to evaluate exit paths for employees nearing retirement. The company is also seeking shareholder approval for a capital increase to fund investments not covered by public resources. Following these labor developments, SASE announced the voluntary resignation of General Manager Umberto Solimeno, effective November 2, 2026. Solimeno, who cited personal reasons, characterized his tenure as “fantastic and unforgettable years” due to growth in passenger services and traffic. SASE has initiated an organizational process to select a new director to lead the airport’s next development phase. The resignation has drawn scrutiny from opposition members in the Umbria Regional Council, who are requesting clarification on the airport’s future strategy, investments, and route programming.
