Sky has announced the return of ‘Saturday Night Live UK’ for a second season, scheduled to premiere on September 12. The upcoming season will feature a total of 12 episodes, with the first six airing through late 2026 and the remaining six scheduled for early 2027. The season premiere, filmed at Television Centre in London, will feature actor Jeff Goldblum as the first guest host and Irish singer-songwriter CMAT as the musical guest, who is expected to perform two live sets. The initial broadcast schedule includes three episodes airing on consecutive weeks in September, followed by three more in early October. While the original cast of eleven members is returning—including Al Nash, Annabel Marlow, Ayoade Bamgboye, Celeste Dring, Emma Sidi, George Fouracres, Hammed Animashaun, Jack Shep, and Larry Dean, with Ania Magliano and Paddy Young returning to the Weekend Update desk—comedian and actor Freddie Meredith has also been announced as a new addition to the ensemble. Meredith is recognized for his roles in ‘Such Brave Girls’ and ‘Big Boys’ and follows a nomination for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for best newcomer. As the premiere approaches, initial skepticism regarding the show’s ability to translate the American format to a British context has shifted toward positive reception. Critics have noted that the series succeeds by utilizing a talented, relatively unknown cast to deliver jokes that feel “modern and quintessentially British.” The show will continue to broadcast on Sky and the streaming service NOW.
