Saudi Arabia has entered into mutual visa waiver agreements with both Pakistan and Turkey to facilitate official travel. On the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia finalized an agreement for holders of diplomatic, official, and special passports. The move aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations and facilitate high-level institutional exchanges. During discussions, officials also addressed regional security and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. Separately, the Saudi Arabian Cabinet Cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has officially approved a similar reciprocal visa waiver agreement with Turkey. This follows completes the ratification process following Turkey’s prior ratification of a deal signed in Ankara approval in May 2026. June. The waiver allows holders of diplomatic and special passports passports—often referred to enter as ‘green passports’ in Turkey—to enter, transit, or make temporary stays in either country without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a any 180-day period. The exemption does not extend to ordinary passport holders, who must continue to follow standard visa requirements. The Turkish Embassy in Riyadh noted that the official effective date for these new rules will be announced separately.
