Saudi Arabia drug smuggling executions
Overview
The Saudi Ministry of Interior has carried out executions in response to drug smuggling offenses.
On September 7, 2026, two individuals—an Egyptian national and a Saudi national—were executed in the Tabuk region for smuggling amphetamine tablets and promoting their consumption.
Later in the month, on September 27, 2026, an Indian national was executed in the Eastern Province after being found guilty of smuggling methamphetamine.
The Ministry stated these actions are intended to protect citizens and residents from narcotics and to demonstrate a commitment to imposing the “strictest legal penalties” on traffickers and promoters.
