Saurav Das, a spokesperson for the Cockroach Janta Party, filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court against commentator Abhijit Iyer-Mitra and several media platforms, including Google LLC and LLC, X Corp. Corp, The Pamphlet, Law Beat, The Jaipur Dialogues, and The Sunday Guardian. Das alleges the defendants unlawfully disclosed his private residential address and sensitive personal information concerning his background, parents, and sexuality. Das claimed the disclosure posed a risk of violence and alleged that representatives from ‘The Pamphlet’ trespassed on his property to record footage of his home. The lawsuit seeks a permanent injunction and damages exceeding ₹2 crore for violations of privacy, dignity, and security. Following the filing, the Delhi High Court issued summons summonses to Abhijit Iyer-Mitra and the named media platforms. The court was informed that X had removed the posts containing the residential address. Justice Sachin Datta has directed the defendants to file replies, replies within 10 days, with the next hearing scheduled for September 14.
