The heavy-duty vehicle sector in Brazil has seen recent developments regarding Scania truck components and model expansions. In September 2026, Fras-le introduced the RC/963 clutch lining, a component specifically designed for Scania Series 5 trucks produced between 2020 and 2026. This asbestos- and heavy-metal-free lining is engineered for high thermal resistance and durability to handle high torque levels in heavy-duty transport. By October 2026, Scania announced further expansions to its product offerings for the Fenatran 2026 launch. launch at the São Paulo Expo. This includes the addition of an 11-liter engine to the Super line, which utilizes a thermal management system to eliminate the need for exhaust gas recirculation. The new 11-liter powertrain will offer 390 cv and 430 cv power options, catering to niches such as e-commerce, light construction, and refrigerated food transport. These models feature the Opticruise G25 14-speed automated gearbox, variable valve timing (VVT), and a compression release brake. To increase vehicle availability, the design positions fuel and oil filters in a more accessible, cooler area of the engine block. Scania also introduced the P 280 XT, a specialized urban waste collection truck capable of running on natural gas or biomethane, featuring an auxiliary axle designed to increase payload capacity.
