School assault and restraining order violation in Zapala, Argentina Zapala

In Zapala, a teenager was charged with aggravated minor injuries following an attack at Escuela Primaria Nº12. During the incident, the suspect allegedly attacked a victim with scissors, resulting in three puncture wounds and a “traumatic pneumothorax”. Following the assault, Judge Maximiliano Bagnat approved charges and implemented precautionary measures. The suspect is prohibited from contacting the victim or approaching her within a 200-meter radius for four months. Facundo Moyano has since been formally charged with disobedience following allegations that he violated these judicial restraining orders. The prosecution, led by Fiscal Florencia Nocerez, alleges that Moyano met with Candela Arizaga at the Aira Apart Hotel in Buenos Aires between August 31 and September 11. Moyano was already under investigation for alleged minor injuries and unlawful deprivation of liberty within a context of gender violence stemming from an August 4 incident. Investigators are currently analyzing seized security footage to confirm Arizaga’s presence during Moyano’s stay. Additionally, Moyano’s legal team underwent changes after his request to lift the restraining orders was rejected. His previous lawyers, Alfredo Gascón and Miguel Ángel Molina, resigned citing “insurmountable differences in defense strategy,” though Moyano characterized the change as a personal decision to enter a “new stage” of the process.
