Rangers FC and Hibernian FC entered their second Scottish Premiership fixtures of the 2026-27 season seeking their first league victories. However, Callum Wright scored a stoppage-time winner in the 93rd minute to secure the win for Hibernian. The defeat left Rangers winless in their first three matches under manager Derek McInnes McInnes, leaving the club five points behind leaders Celtic and St Mirren. The match also resulted in an injury to striker Youssef Chermiti. Chermiti, who was forced off the pitch on a stretcher. Amidst these struggles, reports indicate the club rejected a club-record bid for Chermiti from Galatasaray. On the transfer front, Rangers are reportedly in talks to re-sign Jayden Meghoma on loan and expect Couhaib Driouech to arrive for a medical as they continue to seek full-back targets.
