The Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) has undergone leadership changes within its organizational structures. Stefania Kuzmanovska, a former vice president of the Social Democratic Youth of Macedonia (SDMM) and Balkan Coordinator for the International Union of Socialist Youth, was elected unanimously as the new president of the SDMM during the organization’s 27th Electoral Conference. Subsequently, Goran Gerasimovski, the Mayor of Centar Municipality, was elected as a Vice President of the SDSM by the party's Central Committee. In his address, address to the Central Board, Gerasimovski called for unity unity, mutual trust, and collective work to strengthen the party. He emphasized that differing opinions should serve as a “catalyst for growth rather than a cause for division” and stated that the party must remain united to defend social democratic principles and oppose the DPMNE regime. Gerasimovski expressed a commitment to being open to criticism and new ideas, noting that the strength of the SDSM lies in its people rather than a single individual. His election follows local criticism regarding his management of the Centar Municipality, where opponents have raised concerns over urban planning planning, construction permits, and environmental impacts in the Barutana area.
