Seasonal Halloween attractions and paranormal tourism continue to expand across North America, with offerings diversifying into various regional specialties. In early September, a trend referred to as “scarecations” emerged, where enthusiasts travel specifically for immersive, large-scale frightening experiences. Notable destinations included Talon Falls Screampark in Kentucky, which introduced the Blood Creek Haunted Hayride: Mutant’s Revenge, and Heritage Park in Calgary, Canada, which hosted 90-minute guided nighttime walking tours for guests aged 16 and older. By late September, seasonal openings expanded in the United States. In Louisiana, Devil's Knot in Haughton became a destination, while the Shreveport market saw the Necromanor event as an alternative to large-scale haunted houses. In Indiana, the Indiana State Sanatorium in Rockville offered guided flashlight tours, self-guided day roams, and private overnight paranormal investigations. As of late October, regional offerings have solidified. In Maine, the Trails of Terror at Camp Tracy in Oakland runs from October 30 through November 1, and the Boo Fighters group hosts an overnight event at Old Fort Western on October 17-18. Florida features GhostFest at the May-Stringer House Museum and the Haunted Hernando History Tour. In Canada, the Hangar Flight Museum in Calgary hosts a family-oriented haunted pumpkin hunt from October 30 to November 1. In the Upper Midwest, the St. Cloud, Minnesota, area features attractions such as Molitor's Haunted Acres, Harvest of Horror, Wicked Woods, and ValleyScare. Meanwhile, Superior, Wisconsin, hosts the Superior Spooktacular, a week-long series including a parade, a Goth Disco, and a Nightmare 5K. In Michigan, the Eloise Asylum in Westland is entering its sixth season, offering special effects and escape rooms, while the Rialto Theater in Loveland, Colorado, hosts ghost tours on October 25 and 26. Newer developments in late October highlight a focus on historical and folklore-driven experiences.
