Retailers in the United States and United Kingdom have begun launching seasonal collections and pricing strategies for the fall and Halloween periods. In late September, Aldi announced price reductions on nearly one-third of its regular stock, including seasonal staples like butternut squash, aiming to save customers approximately $86 million. In the United Kingdom, Morrisons and Aldi UK introduced Halloween-themed decor, costumes, and knitwear. Consumer trends also indicated a rise in popularity for fruity and sour candies. By early October, retailers expanded their seasonal offerings. Trader Joe’s introduced autumn-themed food items and Halloween-themed mini canvas totes, alongside a Hot Toddy wine cocktail collaboration. In the beauty and accessory sectors, TONYMOLY released a Squishmallows-themed advent calendar, and Crocs announced a Sanrio Halloween collection. Confectionery retailers have further diversified their Halloween ranges by catering to different market segments. Mars has introduced large-scale variety packs, such as a 65-piece assortment of Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, and 3 Musketeers, intended for bulk trick-or-treating and parties. Conversely, Hotel Chocolat is targeting a premium market with its seasonal lineup, featuring ‘Boo Boxes’ containing 16 individually wrapped chocolate characters and nut-based sipping chocolates like Walnut and Roasted Almond. This approach seeks to transition Halloween chocolate from simple handouts toward curated gifting and at-home rituals.
