The Segway Navimow product line has transitioned from consumer retail promotions to the unveiling of new specialized technology. Initial reports focused on price discounts for the Navimow X430 model, a robotic mower designed for difficult terrain with all-wheel drive and a dual suspension system. The X430 utilizes a one-tap mapping method via GPS and GeoSketch, removing the need for boundary wires. At IFA 2026, Segway Navimow unveiled the H5 Pro, a model designed to eliminate manual edge trimming. The device features ‘EdgeMaestro’ technology, which utilizes an extendable robotic arm that can reach up to 7.7 cm beyond the mower’s chassis, allowing the cutting disc to operate flush against walls, fences, and flower beds. Unlike competitors that use separate trimming modules, the H5 Pro uses its primary cutting disc for both the main lawn and the perimeter to ensure a consistent cut. To manage complex boundaries, the unit employs the ‘EdgeSense 2.0’ algorithm and an omnidirectional floating arm to compensate for uneven terrain. The H5 Pro incorporates ‘Xero-Turn All-Wheel Drive’, enabling it to navigate slopes of up to 80 percent. For navigation and safety, the mower uses a tri-fusion system combining LiDAR, cameras, and Network-RTK. It also includes a thermal infrared sensor to detect small animals, such as hedgehogs, even in low-light conditions. To address environmental concerns, the company is collaborating with the hedgehog rescue organization Igelhilfe Schulzendorf to demonstrate wildlife protection in automated gardening.
