Selvaggia Lucarelli career transition and media commentary

Selvaggia Lucarelli has transitioned from her role as a judge on Rai 1’s ‘Ballando con le Stelle’ to Mediaset, where she serves as a commentator for ‘Grande Fratello Vip’ and is expected to host ‘L’Isola dei Famosi’.

During her tenure on ‘Grande Fratello Vip’, Lucarelli has engaged in heated debates regarding contestant relationships, including questioning the authenticity of the friendship between Valeria Marini and Giancarlo Dando. She also expressed support for contestant Simone Annicchiarico following his expulsion for using profanity, stating that his mistake “does not define his complex personality.”

While Lucarelli’s move to Mediaset offers increased professional weight, recent Auditel data indicates that viewership for the ninth edition of ‘Grande Fratello Vip’ is performing below historical expectations and previous audience shares seen on Rai 1.

Following her departure from the ballroom, social media reactions have highlighted a divide in public opinion. Lucarelli addressed these comments by noting the irony of viewers requesting her return after years of asking for her removal, describing the situation as ‘just TV’ while acknowledging the cyclical nature of public sentiment.

Recent developments in Italian reality programming have seen further tension. In ‘Ballando con le Stelle’, Noemi Bocchi made an emotional debut, addressing media pressure regarding her relationship with Francesco Totti and expressing a desire to not be viewed solely as ‘the partner of’. Francesco Totti has since expressed his pride in her performance via social media.

Meanwhile, in the ‘Grande Fratello Vip’ house, Valeria Marini threatened to leave the competition due to feelings of isolation. Conflicts have emerged between Guendalina Tavassi, Jonathan Kashanian, and Moreno Morello, while Giancarlo Danto also engaged in heated arguments with Tavassi. Additionally, participants Marina La Rosa and Alex Belli engaged in a theatrical, near-kissing interaction that has since gone viral.
