Semiconductor industry leaders Jensen Huang of Nvidia and Lisa Su of AMD have recently engaged in high-profile activities involving both U.S. and Chinese institutions. On September 25, 2026, both executives attended a White House state dinner hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump for Chinese President Xi Jinping. Their presence at the table alongside the two world leaders highlighted the intersection of semiconductor leadership and geopolitical relations between the United States, China, and Taiwan. Following this, on September 29, 2026, Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management (SEM) announced that both Huang and Su would join its Advisory Committee. Board. They join other notable figures, including Marc Pictet of the Swiss group Pictet, to serve on a board currently chaired by Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook. The board, established in 2000, facilitates connections between the school and representatives from business and academia to provide input on research and educational programs. Huang and Su are scheduled to participate in the committee’s 2026 annual meeting in Beijing on October 13-14.
