The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has issued rulings addressing multiple legal disputes involving the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF). In an election dispute, CAS ordered that an appeal by candidate Mady Touré regarding the 2025 FSF presidential election be sent back to the federation’s Electoral Appeals Commission. The tribunal found that the FSF’s previous decision to declare the appeal inadmissible was not legally founded and violated the federation’s electoral code. Touré has since described the ruling as a ‘major victory,’ noting that the decision was based on a ‘manifestly erroneous interpretation of the Electoral Code.’ While the commission must now re-examine allegations of irregularities in voter control and ballot counting, the ruling does not immediately change the leadership status, leaving Abdoulaye Fall as the acting president. Touré has requested a revised timeline for the procedure, stating the debate regarding the regularity of the August 2025 election is now ‘fully open.’ Additionally, CAS has scheduled a hearing for October 8 regarding a separate dispute with the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The FSF is appealing a decision related to the AFCON 2025 tournament, seeking to overturn a forfeiture that awarded Morocco a 3-0 win after Senegalese players walked off the pitch during the final in Rabat. The FSF is seeking to have the forfeiture decision set aside and to be declared the official winners of the tournament.
