Albino Santos de Lima, identified as a serial killer in Maceió, has received an additional 30-year prison sentence for the October 2023 murder of 21-year-old Mikaele Leite da Silva. Prosecutors established the motive was the victim’s refusal of a sexual proposition made via a social media live stream. The court refuted defense claims of mental insanity, noting that Lima maintained a digital catalog of “trophies” containing photos and execution dates of his victims. This ruling brings his total accumulated sentence to over 234 years, following previous convictions including a 29-year sentence for the death of José Ilso Siqueira Filho. In a subsequent ruling, Lima was sentenced to 60 years in prison for the December 2023 murders of Débora Vitória Silva dos Santos, 21, and John Lenno Santos Ferreira, 20, in the Vergel do Lago neighborhood. This marks his tenth conviction since his arrest in 2024. Prosecutors presented evidence from his phone, including a list of potential targets featuring photos of sex workers, and stated he tracked victims via social media. With this latest verdict, Lima’s total accumulated prison time has reached 354 years, two months, and 13 days.
