Serbia electoral commission voting booth procurement dispute

Overview

The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) of Serbia initiated an urgent procurement process for 30,000 voting screens, valued at approximately six million euros, to be used in upcoming elections. Additionally, commission member and legal expert Sofija Mandić raised allegations of potential corruption, noting that the winning bidder, which specializes in air conditioning, had a previous annual budget significantly smaller than the contract value. RIK President Dimitrijević defended the decision, maintaining that the design is standard in Western Europe and enhances secrecy.
