In late July 2026 Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić undertook two distinct diplomatic efforts. On 23 July he led a delegation to the ASEAN summit in Manila, the first Serbian ministerial visit to the Philippines in 16 years. He sought deeper political and economic ties with ASEAN members, highlighted Serbian‑ASEAN trade surpassing €1.3 billion, promoted the 2027 Specialized Expo in Belgrade, and reiterated Serbia’s commitment to its newly signed Friendship and Cooperation Agreement with the bloc.

Five days later, on 28 July, Đurić addressed Serbia’s National Assembly, urging responsibility and unity in a confidence debate on the government. He reaffirmed Serbia’s position on protecting the territorial integrity of Kosovo and Metohija, warned against political missteps, and announced the opening of a strategic dialogue with the United States, marking a new phase in bilateral relations.
