Serbia is advancing several major motorway and expressway projects to improve national transport infrastructure and regional connectivity. Initial developments include the approval of the 65-kilometer A9 motorway, linking Pančevo to the Romanian border at Vatin, and construction on the 105.4-kilometer Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad motorway (‘Vojvođansko P’). The latter is a complex 1.6 billion euro undertaking involving 50 different objects, including bridges and interchanges, funded by loans from UniCredit Bank Srbija, Banca Intesa, and NLB Komercijalna banka. Expanding its corridor planning, the Serbian Agency for Spatial Planning and Urbanism has released a draft spatial plan for a new infrastructure corridor connecting Kraljevo, Raška, and Novi Pazar. This project consists of a main 80.74-kilometer expressway (IM 17) and a 12.75-kilometer branch connecting Raška to Jarinje (IM 19), totaling 93.49 kilometers. Due to the mountainous terrain of the Ibar valley, construction will require 111 structures, including bridges and tunnels. The expressway is designed for four lanes with speeds up to 100 km/h, though this will be reduced to 80 km/h within tunnels. A public inspection period for the draft plan and environmental impact assessment is open until September 25. Furthering regional connectivity, Putevi Srbije has initiated a new phase for the E-763 motorway, extending the route from Požega toward the Montenegrin border to connect with the Montenegrin Bar–Boljare highway. The first phase involves an 8.86-kilometer section through Požega and Arilje, requiring two tunnels—Virovo and Cerova—and 12 bridges. This segment is part of a larger 107-kilometer Požega–Boljare section, described as the most technically demanding part of the Belgrade–Southern Adriatic motorway project. Beyond motorways, the state is facilitating the Serbia-Hungary oil pipeline via a 14.5 billion dinar guarantee for Transnafta Pančevo. Additionally, Infrastruktura železnice Srbije has launched an international tender to modernize the Belgrade-Niš railway to enable speeds of up to 200 km/h on the Paraćin–Trupale–Međurovo segment.
