Serbia and Uzbekistan are deepening bilateral economic and diplomatic ties, recently elevating their relationship to a strategic partnership. In September 2026, the Serbian Office for IT and eGovernment and the Uzbek Ministry of Digital Technologies signed memorandums to exchange knowledge on e-government, digital infrastructure, and the use of artificial intelligence to improve administrative transparency. Additionally, Serbian Minister for Environmental Protection Sara Pavkov and Uzbek Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov signed an agreement to cooperate on sustainable development. This partnership focuses on nature protection, waste management, water and land resource management, air quality, and climate change response through the exchange of technology and expertise. In September 2026, President Vučić announced that a direct flight route between Belgrade and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, could be established within seven to eight months. This development is intended to strengthen bilateral ties in biotechnology, ICT, and the defense industry.
