Following the Serbian parliamentary elections, the Studentski pokret (Student Movement) secured a historic victory, reportedly winning approximately 140 mandates. Ana Dimitrijević, a candidate for the Studentska lista, stated that the margin of victory was too large for the SNS to contest, though she expressed uncertainty regarding whether the results would be officially recognized due to past irregularities. Dimitrijević also addressed an incident at the TV Informer building, claiming the event bore the ‘signature of the former government’ and was an attempt to frame the student movement as violent. She maintained that the movement had remained peaceful and was celebrating elsewhere during the incident. She further characterized rhetoric from Aleksandar Vučić regarding the self-organization of SNS supporters as a threat. In the aftermath, activist Aida Ćorović noted a tense atmosphere in Belgrade, marked by the deployment of special forces and armored vehicles near government buildings. Ćorović suggested that Aleksandar Vučić’s concession of defeat might have been facilitated by a deal with the European Union, theorizing that the overwhelming evidence of the student movement’s vote count left the EU with no grounds to protect the previous administration.
