Serbian youth addiction and internet safety project
Overview
The ‘I jedan je mnogo’ (And one is many) project is an educational initiative in Serbia designed to promote internet safety and prevent addiction among young athletes aged 12 to 18. Organized by the Association of Lottery Organizers (SPIS) in collaboration with the Special Hospital for Addictive Diseases, the program utilizes interactive workshops to address digital violence, unsafe online behavior, and dependencies related to gambling, video games, alcohol, and psychoactive substances.
Initially, the project reached over 500 participants through 22 workshops across 18 sports clubs and camps in cities including Belgrade, Novi Sad, Vrnjacka Banja, and Čačak. Following its first six months of implementation, the initiative expanded its reach to 660 young athletes through 27 workshops conducted across 20 sports clubs and camps, covering disciplines such as football, basketball, volleyball, and water polo.
Led by the SPIS Association and featuring basketball player Igor Rakočević, the project maintains an ultimate goal of reaching 1,500 participants.
