Seres Group and Huawei have transitioned to a new cooperation model for the AITO brand following AITO’s growth to a million-vehicle scale. Under this arrangement, Seres will lead product definition, design, brand marketing, retail channels, and service systems. Huawei will shift its role to providing “technical empowerment,” a move intended to allow for the standardization of its ecosystem across multiple brands. To support this transition, Seres is implementing an “AITO exclusive dealership” model. Seres Group Chairman Zhang Xinghai clarified that the partnership has not ended but has instead evolved into this model, which he noted is a common practice among global luxury automakers. Seres Vice President Kang Bo noted stated that the company’s leadership of the brand is supported by forty years of industrial experience and a customer base of over one million delivered high-end intelligent electric vehicles, which will provide feedback for R&D and service improvements. Despite Huawei Terminal BG Chairman Yu Chengdong expressed support for Seres, noting the shift company’s significant progress in operational control, the partnership remains intact. AITO continues to be a core member of the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) family, and certain its cooperation with Huawei. While Seres manages operations, Huawei and HIMA retail locations will continue to sell AITO vehicles. Additionally, Seres holds a 10% stake in Yinwang, a company that aggregates Huawei’s core intelligent vehicle technologies. its affiliate Yinwang Intelligent Technology has confirmed its continued support, providing solutions such as will continue to provide advanced solutions, including Qiankun intelligent driving, HarmonyOS cockpits, and smart vehicle cloud services services. Beyond the AITO brand, Yu Chengdong provided updates on the upcoming Maextro SUV. Described as a highly premium model for high-end users, the SUV is expected to maintain product competitiveness. debut potentially at the Guangzhou Auto Show later this year, with a market launch anticipated in early 2025. This model will complete the Maextro luxury lineup, which already includes flagship MPVs.
