The Shillong Premier League 2026 opened on July 24–25 with defending champions Langsning edging newly promoted Sawmer 1–0 at the SSA Stadium. Langsning, fresh from a runners–up finish in the Meghalaya State League, added ten signings including Asian Games midfielder Samuel Kynshi and prepared for a Durand Cup slot. The second round took place on August 3, when Sawmer met Rangdajied United at the same venue.
