Various wine events highlighting Sicilian viticulture have taken place in Sicily. In Catania, the fourth edition of ‘Bianchi di Sicilia – Il sole nel calice’ drew a record 2,500 attendees, featuring over 130 wineries and masterclasses on topics such as olive oil and the impact of climate change on wine terroirs. Following this, the ‘Calici al Village’ festival commenced at the Sicilia Outlet Village. This event series focuses on regional varieties, beginning with white wines before scheduled sessions for red wines and sparkling wines. On October 4, the second installment of the ‘Calici al Village’ series, organized in collaboration with WineSicily, focuses on Sicilian red wines. The event allows visitors to discover various territories, grape varieties, and labels by meeting local producers and wineries. Participants receive a free tasting ticket and a glass, with the event combining wine culture with entertainment such as a DJ set. The series is scheduled to conclude on October 11 with a final event centered on Sicilian sparkling wines.
