Sigma Corporation has introduced several new full-frame mirrorless lenses for Sony E-mount and Leica L-mount systems. Initial announcements releases included the 85mm f/1.2 DG Art, a premium portrait lens featuring a dual High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) system, and the 20-60mm f/2.8-4 DG Contemporary, a compact standard zoom lens designed for travel. Following these releases, the company expanded its wide-angle offerings with the 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art, which utilizes specialized glass elements to minimize distortion, and the 14mm f/1.4 DG Art, a high-speed lens optimized for applications such as astrophotography. Sigma has since expanded into the APS-C mirrorless market with the release of the 50-120mm f/2.8 DC OS Contemporary. This telephoto zoom, available for Sony E, Fujifilm X, and Canon RF mounts, provides a constant f/2.8 aperture and a weight of 390g. To maintain a compact profile, the lens features a minimalist design without focus mode or AFL buttons. It utilizes a High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) AF motor and offers stabilization providing up to 6.5 stops at the wide end. This release completes Sigma’s trio of ultra-compact f/2.8 APS-C zooms alongside the 10-18mm f/2.8 and 18-50mm f/2.8. Most recently, Sigma announced the 50mm F1.4 CL DG | Contemporary for Sony E and Leica L mounts. This compact full-frame prime lens features an all-metal construction and a Rotary Direct Drive (RDD) autofocus system, which uses circular coils and magnets to minimize the lens diameter. Designed to emulate classic optics, it includes physical rings for manual focus and aperture adjustment.
