In mid‑July 2026, Turkish folk singer Yavuz Bingöl disclosed an urgent gallbladder problem that required surgery, forcing his withdrawal from the 28th Malatya Apricot Festival. The event replaced him with Ender Balkır. A week later, Greek pop star Mihalis Khatzigiannis revealed he had undergone a cholecystectomy, prompting the cancellation of his August engagements, including a show at Kuko’s The Summer Bar on Agios Theodoros beach. Fans were directed to seek refunds, and the artist pledged to announce new dates once recovered. On 30 July, the same Greek artist—spelled Michalis Chatzigiannis in his announcement—confirmed via social media that his scheduled concert for 6 August 2026 at Athens’ Olympias Floka Theatre had been postponed while he continued his recovery. His team indicated a future date would be set after the tour schedule is reorganised. Later on 30 July, Khatzigiannis provided further details, stating the surgery was an emergency cholecystectomy and that the postponed concert would now be held at the Olympia Floka theatre in Ancient Olympia. He thanked fans, doctors and nursing staff, confirming he was in good condition but needed additional time before returning to the stage. New dates will be announced once the programme is reorganised.
