The ‘Festeja Sinop 2026’ celebrations, marking the 52nd anniversary of Sinop, Brazil, continue with a diverse array of community, sporting, and commercial events. At Praia do Cortado, the Beach Festival is currently underway, offering free entry alongside musical performances and water sports such as kayaking, stand-up paddle, and banana boat rides. This location also hosts the 6th Sport Fishing Tournament on the Teles Pires River, featuring over R$ 100,000 in prizes including cash, motorcycles, kayaks, and boats. As part of the 34th Sinop Olympic Games, cycling activities were held during the third day of the Festival de Praia on the Brazilian Independence Day holiday. Approximately 200 participants took part in a mountain bike competition and the inaugural ‘Ciclo Festeja’, a non-competitive 23-kilometer ride from Estrada Nanci to Praia do Cortado. Tourism Director Leidiane Viegas noted the non-competitive ride was designed to allow more people to enjoy the scenery of the Teles Pires River without competitive pressure, while Sports Technical Director Paulo Carvalho praised the new circuit and infrastructure provided by the Sinop City Hall. Musical programming ~~continues through the weekend and into the municipal holiday. On Saturday, September 12, the lineup~~ includes sertanejo artists Júnior Marra and Nilson ~~Neto.~~ Neto on Saturday, September 12. Sunday features ~~Xanddy Harmonia and~~ a city ball with Banda Acqua, while the duo Wesley & Conrado is scheduled to record a DVD at the Massami Uriú Municipal Stadium on Monday. The Beach Festival has since concluded at Praia do Cortado, featuring a closing performance by national artist Xanddy Harmonia. Mayor Roberto Dorner noted that the high level of public participation, which included tourists from regions such as Goiânia, indicates the event successfully meets the community’s demand for accessible entertainment. Other ongoing festivities include the 1st Honey Fair at Praça da Bíblia, featuring approximately 25 exhibitors.
