Slayyyter album announcement and media appearances

Overview

Pop artist Slayyyter announced her upcoming nine-track album, ‘wor$t man in america’, which is scheduled for release on December 4 via RECORDS/Columbia. The project is described as a “brother” album to her March release, ‘WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA’, serving as a counterpart that revisits themes and sounds from a different perspective.

Following the announcement, Slayyyter appeared on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’. During the interview, she discussed her interest in fashion history and her collection of vintage showgirl costumes. She noted that she recently acquired a costume from an Italian cabaret that was originally from France, but warned that some vintage pieces can contain ‘hazardous materials’. She shared that a dress used in a music video caused her to suffer an allergic reaction, potentially due to lead paint used in its construction. For the appearance, she wore a lilac strapless dress from Erica Myat’s fall 2026 collection.

As a precursor to the album, Slayyyter released a new single and self-directed music video titled ‘i think he’s got a girl’, which explores themes of suspicion and relationship unraveling. This follows the previous release of tracks ‘Crank 2’ and ‘Beat Up Chanel$’, which serve as inversions of songs from her earlier work.

Reflecting on her career trajectory, Slayyyter, born Catherine Grace Garner, experienced a significant breakthrough following the release of ‘Worst Girl in America’. This period was marked by intense personal trauma, as the artist discovered her partner's infidelity only two days before that album's premiere. Originally from Kirkwood, Missouri, her musical style blends electropop, dance music, and hyperpop, influenced by internet subcultures and artists such as Lana Del Rey and Charli XCX.
