Social welfare and community engagement initiatives have been introduced in the Italian regions of Corato and Crotone. Initial efforts focused on specific local projects, such as the “Punto Zero. Dove gli incontri diventano possibilità” project in Corato to combat youth isolation, and the “Una comunità che accoglie” program in the Crotone area to strengthen family foster care networks. Following these localized efforts, the Province of Crotone expanded its approach by signing a shared administration protocol with CSV Calabria Centro. This agreement establishes a permanent coordination table to involve Third Sector entities in territorial planning, focusing on the regeneration of internal areas, youth engagement, and active citizenship through co-programming and co-designing local policies. Furthering integration in Crotone, an inter-institutional agreement was signed between local municipalities and the Provincial Health Authority. This protocol aims to improve socio-sanitary integration for individuals with disabilities and those in conditions of non-self-sufficiency. The initiative seeks to create integrated care pathways by strengthening the Single Access Point (PUA) and Multidimensional Evaluation Units (UVM) to ensure better coordination between social and health services.
