Sonia Gandhi, chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, has debuted on social media platforms Instagram and X to preview her upcoming memoir, ‘Belonging: A Journey of Love’. Scheduled for release on November 10, 2026, the 544-page book covers significant life milestones, including her childhood in post-war Italy, her 1968 marriage to Rajiv Gandhi, and her entry into Indian politics. In her digital posts, Gandhi shared personal recollections of her first meeting with the late former Prime Minister at a Greek restaurant in Cambridge, England, describing him as a “very gentle-looking” and “good-looking” person. She specifically noted that her journey of love began in 1965 at The Varsity, where she was seeking food similar to Italian cuisine. The memoir also addresses personal tragedies, such as the assassinations of Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi. While Alfred A. Knopf will publish the international edition, HarperCollins India has secured the rights for the Indian publication.
