Sony has officially announced the Xperia 10 VIII, a mid-range smartphone featuring a 6.1-inch FHD+ LTPS OLED 120Hz display. The company notes the screen is 50% brighter than the previous Xperia 10 VII. Core hardware includes the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, with support for up to 6GB of virtual memory expansion. The device runs on Android 16 and is expected to receive four major OS updates. It retains legacy features such as a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot supporting up to 2TB. The camera system consists of a 50MP main sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide lens, while the 5,000mAh battery supports 30W wired charging. New experiential upgrades include enhanced front-facing stereo speakers with improved bass and volume, alongside volume—specifically a 15% increase in volume and a 30% increase in bass—alongside the ‘Point & Pay’ software feature, which allows users to quickly launch payment and loyalty apps by double-pressing the power button. The smartphone is available in Frozen White, Frosted Grey, and Misty Lilac. Pricing in Europe is set at 599 euros, which represents a significant increase from the previous model's launch price. Global availability is slated to begin in mid-to-late September.
