The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) in Sorocaba is expanding continues to expand its operational capacity and workforce. In the Aparecidinha neighborhood, the ‘Marcos Antonio de Campos’ Community Base has transitioned to 24-hour service, utilizing 12-hour shifts to provide continuous patrolling and preventive actions. This facility marks the sixth active community base for the corporation. Simultaneously, the city is increasing its personnel through recruitment. Sorocaba City Hall Hall, via the Secretariat of Human Resources, has summoned 16 additional candidates from a 2023 public contest (Edital nº 01/2023) to fill eight vacancies for the position of Second Class Municipal Civil Guard. This recruitment effort is part of a broader initiative that has seen over 300 candidates summoned to date, helping the GCM reach a workforce exceeding 500 guards, the largest in its history. Following the latest announcement from the Secretariat of Human Resources, announcement, the municipality has now filled 288 positions through the current recruitment process. An assignment session for the new appointees is scheduled for September 4 at the Salão de Vidro in the Paço Municipal, where candidates are required to present an original photo ID.
