South American cacao production and promotion

Overview

Efforts to promote and sustain cacao production and heritage are expanding across South America. In Bolivia, the inaugural National Wild Cacao Summit was held in the Beni region to position wild cacao as a premium product and a model for sustainable Amazon forest conservation. Concurrently, domestic production is being bolstered through initiatives like Nestlé Ecuador’s ‘Plan Cacao,’ which provides technical training to over 7,500 farmers to improve yields and sustainable practices.
