A bus driver from Gyeongnam Express received widespread praise after assisting a passenger with mobility issues during a long-distance trip from Seoul to Yangsan. When the passenger experienced a bathroom accident, the driver personally helped wash the individual and assisted them in changing into clean clothes at a highway service area. A fellow passenger also contributed by purchasing new trousers for the individual. Following the viral spread of the story on social media, South Korean Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yun-deok expressed a desire to find the driver to award a ministerial commendation for showing “sincere kindness toward a neighbor during a difficult situation.” The Minister shared his intent via X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, emphasizing the driver’s decision to go above and beyond to assist a passenger in distress.
