South Korean community welfare outreach for Chuseok
Overview
In the lead-up to the Chuseok holiday, various organizations across South Korea have engaged in charitable activities to support underprivileged residents and social welfare facilities.
In Donghae City, the Bunto Village Farming Association donated 200 packs of soybean paste, while the Donghae Power Division of Korea East-West Power provided rice and instant noodles valued at approximately 5 million won to assist low-income households.
In Gyeongsangbuk-do, members of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council visited facilities in cities such as Gyeongju, Pohang, and Andong to deliver relief goods to elderly care centers, childcare facilities, and centers for the disabled. Additionally, the Andong Hospital ‘Nanum 365 Volunteer Group’ visited nine social welfare institutions to deliver donations as part of ESG management initiatives. The hospital also continues to provide medical volunteer services, including free oriental medicine treatments, in areas previously impacted by large-scale wildfires.
