South Korean pharmaceutical companies expanding skincare atD

Overview

South Korean pharmaceutical companies are expanding their presence in the affordable derma-skincare market through the Daiso retail channel.

On October 14, Dongwha Pharm launched its ‘Trace Repair’ line under the Fusiderm brand. The collection, which includes five products such as toners and spot creams, utilizes niacinamide to address skin pigmentation and marks following dermatological procedures. The products are priced competitively between 2,000 and 5,000 KRW.

Following this, on October 22, Yuhan Corp introduced an eight-product ‘Panthenol Barrier’ line from its Dermaplamin Rx brand. Designed for sensitive or post-procedure skin, the collection uses a ‘Cica Calming Complex’ featuring panthenol and Centella-derived ingredients. These products are also positioned at affordable price points, with mask packs costing 1,000 KRW and other items priced at 5,000 KRW.
