Regional non-league football matches in the South West have seen varying results for local clubs. St Austell secured a 3-1 victory against St Mawgan following two late goals by 16-year-old Callum Bassett, though the match was delayed by a serious knee injury to Rubin Wilson. Newquay’s performance in the Western League Premier Division has fluctuated. After suffering their first home defeat of the season with a 2-1 loss to Buckland Athletic, the team managed a 3-3 draw against Sidmouth Town. Despite being reduced to ten men after the dismissal of Tom Badcott, Newquay secured a point through two goals from Callam Mconie, including an equalizer in stoppage time. In the South West Peninsula League Premier West, Bude Town earned a 3-0 win over Camelford at the Broadclose, featuring a debut goal from Ray Spear and a penalty from captain Harry Hopcroft. Penzance also secured a 3-1 victory against Dobwalls at Lantoom Park, with Josh Turner scoring twice. Meanwhile, Hayle and AFC St Austell played to a 1-1 draw at Trevassack Park. Curtis Smith scored a penalty for Hayle, which was matched by a strike from St Austell’s Tom Payne. The result allowed Hayle to extend its unbeaten start to four games. St Austell AFC has since extended its unbeaten run to seven games following a 2-1 victory over Mousehole. After a scoreless first half, James Ward and Liam Eddy scored in quick succession to secure the win. Manager Chris Knight noted the team's difficulty in maintaining a stable lineup due to injuries and player availability.
