The SpaceX Crew-12 mission successfully concluded its 237-day tenure aboard the International Space Station (ISS) with a splashdown in a SpaceX Dragon capsule in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Los Angeles on October 8, 2026. The international crew—comprising NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev—completed 3,792 orbits and traveled over 100 million miles during their nearly eight-month stay. Key scientific achievements included research into stem cell production, the effects of spaceflight on human biology, on-demand intravenous fluid generation, and studies on pneumonia-causing bacteria. The mission was marked by several extravehicular activity milestones: Sophie Adenot became the first French woman to perform spacewalks, completing three, while Jessica Meir participated in four. Adenot also set a resilience record for the European Space Agency by spending 237 days in space. Additionally, the crew marked the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence with a small musical performance. This mission originally launched in February Prior to replace the Crew-11 team, which required evacuation following their departure, a medical emergency involving commander Mike Fincke—the first such emergency evacuation for NASA in 65 years. leadership transition occurred on October 4, when Roscosmos cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov officially assumed command of the station from Jessica Meir. Following the splashdown, the crew Crew-12 members underwent medical screenings aboard the recovery ship Shannon. They were subsequently Shannon before being transported to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston for rehabilitation. The departure of the Crew-12 team leaves seven residents currently aboard the station for Expedition 75. The remaining crew includes Joshua Kutryk (CSA), Jessica Watkins (NASA), Luke Delaney (NASA), Sergey Teteryatnikov (Roscosmos), Anna Kikina (Roscosmos), Pyotr Dubrov (Roscosmos), and Anil Menon (NASA).
