SpaceX initially implemented a policy change for its Starlink Roam satellite internet service that excluded Poland from its unified European roaming region. Under this new policy, Polish accounts were treated as domestic-only, meaning users traveling to other European countries would face a 30-day limit before needing to reset their location or upgrade to a more expensive tier. The Polish government responded with sharp criticism. Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski stated, “Poland is not a second-class market, and Polish customers are not second-class customers.” Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski also suggested that Poland might reconsider its annual payments for services if these practices continued, noting the potential impact on funding for Starlink connectivity in Ukraine. Following this diplomatic pressure, SpaceX reversed its decision. The company announced that Poland would be included in the intra-European Starlink Roam travel area, ensuring Polish customers receive the same roaming treatment as users in other European nations. Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski confirmed that SpaceX responded to his demands, and the company subsequently updated its support documentation to include Poland in the unified European roaming region.
