The labor dispute at Airbus Spain has reached a resolution following a successful referendum. After months of industrial tension, including two strikes and an indefinite strike action, more than 13,500 employees across facilities in Getafe, Albacete, Illescas, Seville, and Cádiz participated in the vote. On October 1, results showed that 76.76% of voters approved the new preliminary agreement. Support was particularly high in Cádiz (95.94%) and Albacete (91.84%), while in Getafe, 1,847 workers voted in favor compared to 1,427 against. The company characterized the negotiation process as “long, intense and transparent.” The approved agreement aims to recover purchasing power through a 7.95% increase distributed proportionally over four years until 2029, alongside commitments to real Consumer Price Index (CPI) payments. Annual increases linked to the CPI will include a 2% boost, with the exception of 2029, which will see a 1.95% increase. The deal also maintains existing teleworking arrangements, effectively ending the conflict that had persisted since July. Subsequent details indicate an 87 percent participation rate in the vote, which was negotiated with the mediation of the Spanish Ministry of Industry. The agreement establishes a right for office staff to work from home for up to 40 percent of their working time, resolving disputes regarding attendance controls. Following the approval, strike committees from UGT, CGT, and ÚTIL have called off the indefinite strike that had been in effect since late August.
