As the Spanish television market transitioned into early September 2026, Antena 3 maintained its strong position. Antena 3 Noticias 1 saw a viewership increase, recording 2,089,000 spectators with a 24.1% share. Prime-time programming for the network also showed notable engagement, with ‘Pasapalabra’ reaching a 19.0% share and ‘Sueños de libertad’ securing 14.8%. Other major networks reported varied results. Regional broadcasting is seeing shifts in programming strategy. TV3 is currently transitioning from summer-themed content back to its standard daily grid and regular presenters as it prepares to return to its regular programming schedule. Additionally, EL 9 TV is relaunching its afternoon magazine ‘Torn de Tarda’ with a focus on stories from central Catalonia. The network is also reinforcing its local media model through coproductions with La Xarxa, including the return of ‘Territori 17’ and the debut of the radio magazine ‘Rambla 54’. New data from early September shows Antena 3 Noticias 1 Fin de Semana as a top performer, averaging 1,851,000 viewers with a 22% screen share on Saturday, September 5. In prime time, Telecinco’s Cine 5 Estrellas led with 757,000 viewers (9.8%), followed by Antena 3’s Una Fiesta de Muerte and La 1’s La Amiga Estupenda. On digital terrestrial television (TDT), the cycling stage Jaen-Sierra de la Pandera on Teledeporte averaged 299,000 viewers. By Monday, September 7, shifts were noted in TDT rankings, including a decrease for El Sótano Club on TEN to a 0.5% share. On Wednesday, September 8, La 1 saw a significant ratings boost during the ‘Mañaneros 360’ program. On Thursday, September 11, Antena 3 maintained its leadership in open television audiences, driven by ‘El Hormiguero’, which attracted 1,493,000 viewers (13.8% share).
