Following the semifinal defeat, Spain secured the bronze medal by defeating host nation Germany 81-58. This victory marks the 17th medal in the history of the Spanish women's national team and their fourth world championship medal. Iyana Martín emerged as a standout performer, recording 22 points, nine assists, and four rebounds in the bronze medal match. She became the youngest player in history to score 20 or more points in three different games during a single World Cup edition. Her tournament average of 17.5 points per game earned her a spot on the FIBA All-Tournament Team and the ‘Rising Star’ award. Martín noted that the medal serves as a “letter of presentation” for the global standing of Spanish women's basketball. Additionally, Spanish head coach Miguel Méndez was recognized by FIBA as the tournament's best coach. Following their semifinal win, the United States moves on to compete for its fifth consecutive World Cup gold medal, maintaining a 34-game winning streak in the tournament.
