Barcelona ~~maintains record-breaking start to 2026/27 season~~ pursues multiple football records under Hansi Fle

Barcelona has extended its dominant start to the 2026/27 season, securing eight consecutive La Liga victories and a successful Champions League debut. Following a 3-1 win against Sevilla, the club’s offensive output has grown to 39 goals across nine total matches, resulting in a scoring average of 4.33 goals per game. With a recent 3-0 victory against Getafe, the team has equaled its own club record of eight consecutive wins at the start of a season, a feat previously achieved during the 2013-2014 campaign. The club is now attempting to match the Spanish record of nine consecutive wins at the start of a season, held by Real Madrid since 1968. Under manager Hansi Flick, the squad remains highly prolific. Raphinha continues to lead the attack with 14 goals, while Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Dani Olmo, and Cubarsí have emerged as key contributors. Barcelona currently sits at the top of the La Liga table with 24 points, holding a five-point lead over Atlético Madrid and Betis, while Real Madrid trails by six points. As the season progresses, the club is pursuing several historic milestones. Beyond the pursuit of the Spanish record for consecutive wins at the start of a campaign, the team is also chasing the La Liga record for most points in a single season, which is currently 100 points, a mark shared by Real Madrid and Barcelona. Their high offensive output also places them in contention for historical scoring records in Spanish football. Recent developments show the team has won its first ten matches across all competitions, maintaining an increased scoring average of 4.4 goals per game. In the Champions League, the club has achieved a high scoring coefficient, averaging three goals per match over 28 games under Flick.
