Spanish municipalities are launching various sports programs and initiatives for the 2026/2027 season. In Almería, the City Council has introduced a kayak route through its ‘Muévete’ program, featuring excursions from the El Palmeral Nautical Canal. In Ronda, the municipal programming includes physical maintenance, pilates, paddle tennis, and zumba for adults, as well as sports schools for children and youth covering football, volleyball, tennis, and paddle tennis. Don Benito is providing 2,935 spots for aquatic and indoor sports, with 2,266 spots for adults and 669 for children. Registrations are set to open progressively starting September 28 via the municipal platform, covering categories such as yoga, Pilates, and therapeutic activities. Puerto Lumbreras has expanded its offering to 16 modalities, including athletics, basketball, handball, boxing, cycling, football, rhythmic gymnastics, karate, kickboxing, swimming, skating, tennis, and volleyball, coordinated with local clubs like Club Atletismo Nogalte and Club Baloncesto Lumbreras. Further regional expansions include Manilva, where the 2026/27 program offers specialized activities for children, adults, and seniors, including handball, football, padel, volleyball, fitness, and dance. In the Valdeorras region, the ‘Xogade’ program is being promoted by ADAS Barco to increase engagement with athletics among schoolchildren through playful, participatory sessions that distinguish between school-hour sessions. In Cúllar Vega, the local government has presented a catalog of sports, recreational, and weekend activities. maintenance activities for all ages, utilizing facilities such as the El Ventorrillo Multifunctional Center and the Day Center. Meanwhile, in Miguelturra, Municipal Sports Schools have commenced the course with 1,148 registered students, including 767 boys and 381 girls. Local authorities in Miguelturra also announced that technical studies for a new indoor multi-sport pavilion are complete, with the first phase of construction expected to go to tender soon.
