Italy has scheduled several sporting and tourism initiatives for the summer and autumn of 2026. Major upcoming initiatives include the seventh edition of Sportcity Day on September 20, which aims to transform 200 cities into ‘open-air gyms’ to combat sedentary lifestyles, with over 700,000 participants expected. Furthermore, CONI and Sisal have announced a partnership to support the Italia Team through the ‘Win for Italia Team’ national lottery, launching September 28. This initiative will direct 26.5% of proceeds to CONI to fund training programs for Olympic athletes. CONI President Luciano Buonfiglio noted that the partnership aims to preserve Italy’s status as a major sporting nation through regulated gaming revenue.
